Questions and answers

How ApeiQ works, in plain words. Something missing? Write to contact@apeiq.app.

Getting started

What is ApeiQ?

A social network about the stock market. Every stock, coin and theme has a room where people post takes, charts, memes and polls. The difference: when you make a call (bullish or bearish), it is scored against the market when it ends, so everyone can see who is actually right.

How do I sign up or log in?

Enter your email and we send you a link. Click it and you are in: there is no password. Tick "Stay logged in on this device" to stay signed in for a year.

Can I look around without an account?

Yes. You can read every room, see the home page and keep a watchlist saved in your browser. You need an account to post, make calls, react, follow people and get alerts.

Does it cost anything?

No. ApeiQ is free during the open beta. We never ask for card details and never handle money.

Is ApeiQ investment advice?

No. Everything on the site is the opinion of its author. Scores describe past calls and say nothing certain about the future. Do your own research.

Calls and scoring

What is a call?

A post that says a stock, coin or theme will do better (bull) or worse (bear) than the market over 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. Calls are public and permanent: they can't be edited or deleted. That keeps every record honest.

How many calls can I make?

Up to 5 a day. Regular posts, replies and reactions are unlimited.

When does a call start and end?

It starts at the first price we record after you post and ends at the first price after its time is up. For crypto we record prices every 15 minutes, so nobody can post after a move they have already seen.

What does "beat the market" mean?

Your call is compared with a benchmark, not just with zero:

  • US stocks and ETFs: the S&P 500 (SPY) or the Nasdaq 100 (QQQ), depending on the room.
  • Coins: Bitcoin. Bitcoin itself is measured against the dollar.
  • Foreign stocks: that country's ETF (for example EWQ for France, EWY for South Korea).

A bull call wins if the asset does better than the benchmark; a bear call wins if it does worse. In a rising market, saying "up" is not enough: you have to pick what rises more.

What is beta, and why does my call show it?

Some stocks usually move more than the market (a beta of 1.5 means about 1.5% for every 1% of the market), some less. We measure each asset's beta from its last 60 days, and a call has to beat what the asset would have done anyway given the market's move. That way, risky stocks in a rising market don't make everyone look like a genius. When an asset's beta is clearly different from 1, the call card shows it.

How are points counted?

Each scored call earns points: its result divided by the asset's typical move over that time frame, capped between -3 and +3. Beating a calm stock by 1% can be worth as much as beating a wild one by 5%, and one lucky moonshot can't carry a whole record.

Are stock calls scored yet?

Crypto calls are scored as soon as they end. Stock, ETF and foreign stock calls are recorded with their exact times and will all be scored once our stock price feed is connected.

Why didn't my penny stock call count?

Penny stocks are easy to push around with a few posts and often barely traded. Calls on over-the-counter stocks, or on stocks under $1 when the call starts, are recorded and get a result, but don't count toward Ape IQ, ranks or Proven. Stocks between $1 and $5 count half. Coins are not affected.

Ape IQ, ranks and seasons

What is Ape IQ?

Your score as a caller. Everyone starts at 100, which means no edge. It goes up when your calls beat the market and down when they don't, between 40 and 180. Recent calls count more than old ones, and a few lucky calls barely move it: it takes a real record to climb.

What are the ranks?
  • Smooth Brain: fewer than 20 scored calls. Everyone starts here.
  • Crayon: Ape IQ under 85 after 30+ calls.
  • Monke: around the market average.
  • Big Brain: top 25% of Ape IQ.
  • Gorilla: top 10% of Ape IQ, with 30+ calls.
  • Silverback: Proven (see below).
  • Harambe: only one at a time, the best Proven caller of the season.

You move up as soon as you qualify. You only move down after 14 days in a row below the line, so ranks don't flicker.

What does Proven mean?

A record very unlikely to be luck, checked with a statistical test, over at least 50 scored calls and on an account at least 30 days old. Proven callers get a mark next to their name, and you can see what they think in every room. The badge is removed if the record weakens.

What are seasons?

Seasons follow the calendar quarters. Season 1 runs from October to December 2026. At the end of each season the best Proven caller is crowned Harambe, and your season points and rank are kept on your profile.

What is Clout?

The reactions other people gave your posts this season. It shows who is entertaining or useful to read; it does not affect Ape IQ.

Is my win rate scored?

Your profile shows how often you beat the market, but the score itself uses points, because a big win and a tiny one are not worth the same.

What is the certificate?

A shareable page with your rank, Ape IQ and record, with a code anyone can use to check it's genuine.

Rooms and posts

Which stocks and coins have a room?
  • Every stock and ETF listed in the US, about 15,000, including over-the-counter penny stocks. The list updates weekly.
  • About 1,000 large companies from 13 other markets: Japan, South Korea, UK, Hong Kong, Canada, India, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
  • 14 major coins.
  • Themes (AI chips, Meme stocks, Quantum, Nuclear...) and countries or regions (Europe, Japan, South Korea, China, India...).
How do I write a ticker?

Put a $ in front: $NVDA. Foreign stocks use a market suffix: $MC.PA (LVMH in Paris), $005930.KS (Samsung in Seoul), $7203.T (Toyota in Tokyo), $0700.HK (Tencent), $SHEL.L (Shell in London). Tickers in posts become links to their rooms.

What are Chaos and Signal?

Two ways to read a room: Chaos shows everything (posts, memes, GIFs, calls), Signal shows calls only.

How do reactions work?

You can give one reaction per post: 🚀, 😂, 💀 or 🔥. Picking another one replaces it; picking the same one again removes it.

Can I reply to a reply?

Yes. Every reply has a Reply button, and answers are shown nested under the reply they answer.

Can I delete a post?

You can delete your own posts, except calls: calls are permanent so the records stay honest.

What is the Money number and the Polymarket strip?

They show what people betting real money on Polymarket think: for example "52% bet it closes up Monday" is the share of money on that stock or coin closing higher. ApeiQ only shows these odds; we never take bets.

What are the Insiders and Next report lines?

For US companies, from their SEC filings. Insiders sums up what the company's officers and directors bought or sold on the open market in the last 90 days (sales on preset plans count for little). Next report is our estimate of the next quarterly results, based on when past ones came out.

Watchlist, lists and alerts

How does the watchlist work?

Star any room, or type a ticker in the add box (on phones, the small ⊕ next to the title). It holds up to 50 rooms and shows the crowd's mood, Proven callers, the Polymarket money, the next event and your own calls for each.

Can I make my own lists?

Yes, up to 20, like "Earnings plays" or "Dividends". Use "+ New list", then tick the lists in a room's details (the ▾ arrow). Deleting a list keeps its rooms on your watchlist.

What alerts can I get?

Turn on the bell for a room to be told about every new call there. For coins you can also set price alerts (above, below, or a big move in a day). Stock price alerts come with the stock price feed.

Can I choose which notifications I get?

Yes, in Settings, under Notifications: replies, mentions, reactions, new followers, scored calls, room alerts and price alerts can each be turned off.

Profile, settings and privacy

How do I change my picture?

In Settings, under Profile: pick one of the ready-made pictures any time, or upload your own photo (from your account's second day).

Is there a light mode?

Yes: the sun and moon button in the header, or Settings, then Appearance. Dark is the default.

What is public?

Your posts, calls, profile, record and watchlist are public. Your email is never shown.

How do I delete my account or get my data?

Write to contact@apeiq.app from the email you sign in with.

Where does the data come from?
  • Charts and price boxes: TradingView (prices may be delayed).
  • Crypto prices: CoinGecko.
  • Company filings, insider trades and the stock lists: SEC EDGAR and Nasdaq's symbol directory.
  • Betting odds: Polymarket (read-only).
  • GIFs: KLIPY.
How do I report a post or a user?

Use the ⋯ menu on the post, then Report. Moderators review reports; harassment, scams and pump schemes are removed.
